Finding books
Although not as current as journal articles, books are an important part of the research process as they provide the most comprehensive coverage of a topic at the time of publication. The bibliography at the end of the book or at the end of each chapter can often lead you to additional sources. Books can be found by using the University of Notre Dame Libraries Online Library Catalog, (ALEPH).

Journal databases are compilations of records, usually with abstracts or full text from journals, magazines, conference proceedings, dissertations, government publications, etc. The content of each record has been analyzed and appropriate subject headings, keywords, descriptors, author names, etc., assigned to aid retrieval.
